Should Simon Davey Go?

Yes – 49%

No – 51%

After a week’s voting, Barnsley fans look to be undecided on whether or not Simon Davey should stay at Barnsley any longer. Of course it will have no bearing on his future as he has been asked to ‘justify his job’ by club owner Patrick Cryne.

Fans opinions on Davey are still divided after two and half seasons in the hot seat. He took over the club in November 2006 after the sacking of Andy Ritchie and steered Barnsley to safety in the Championship in three successive seasons. But this has not impressed a section of the supporters, who believe that with the squad he has assembled and the money he has spent, the club should be looking at the upper reaches of the table by now.

Only time will tell whether or not Davey will still be at the helm when August arrives and another season begins, but for now, not even the fans seem sure whether he should remain in the job.
