Barnsley suffered their first defeat of pre-season against League One side Yeovil Town at Huish Park.

All four of Simon Davey`s Summer signings were named in the starting eleven, although Darren Moore and Iain Hume were replaced at half time.

A very strong Reds line-up never really got out of first gear as the Glovers opened the scoring on 40 minutes. Gavin Tomlin tucked home a rebound after Schofield`s effort was saved by Kyle Letheren.

The only real first-half chance Barnsley managed to create was when Campbell-Ryce`s cross found the head of Stephen Foster, but ‘keeper Corin Brown was equal to the defender`s effort.

The best chance of the game for the Reds was when Brian Howard saw his delightful free-kick rattle off the cross bar. The home side then doubled their advantage thanks to a neat finish from Lloyd Owusu with less than ten minutes remaining.

Barnsley: Letheren, Hassell, El Mounir, Foster, Moore (Howard 45), Souza (Butterfield 67), Colace, Leon (Smith 52), Campbell-Ryce, Hume (Macken 45), Odejayi.
