Barnsley manager Simon Davey has blasted the ongoing transfer saga of Hugo Roberto Colace.

Colace was signed in June by the Reds but the Argentine midfielder is yet to receive international clearance for the midfielder.

Speaking to barnsleyfc.co.uk after Saturday’s game, Davey said:

‘It is getting on my nerves now. There is nothing new to add as we have still not got the clearance through.’

The 24-year-old who arrived from Newell’s Old Boys could have helped balance the midfield in the opening few games where the void of Anderson de Silva is yet to be filled.

Davey cotinued:

‘It is ridiculous and all I can say is that I hope it comes through this week.’

Davey is clearly frustrated with Colace’s former club who seem reluctant to let the midfielder’s papers go. It is believed that Colace will have a much bigger impact in the middle of the park than Sam Togwell who was sold over a month ago.
