The Reds are looking up (the table)! So now, you’d better believe it!
I’ve always thought that our record v QPR was poor, particularly in recent seasons. However, we’ve
beaten them the last 3 times that the clubs have played each other! Another would be rather helpful, I
reckon!
Until they lost surprisingly last Saturday to Birmingham City (ironically our opponents next Saturday ),
QPR had won 6 of their last 8 matches, including winning their last 3 home matches. Based on this, it’ll
be a difficult game for us.
However, QPR currently have 11 points less than us & are 17th in the table to our 7th place. They’ve
won 10, drawn 10 & lost 11, scoring 31 goals to our 38 goals. Funnily enough, both clubs have
conceded 36 goals.
QPR have, on paper, a potent strike force including Lyndon Dikes (a reported Reds target earlier in the
season) & on-loan Charlie Austin. Our defence will need to concentrate throughout the match to nullify
the clever runs of Austin in particular ! Having said that, our defence is playing well as a unit & should
be able to deal with any threat!
Our own attacking options should worry any opposition team with the inspired additions of Darryl
Dike & Carlton Morris to Cauley Woodrow, Conor Chaplin, Victor Adeboyejo & a resurgent Dominic
Frieser.
Barnsley fans have every right to be positive about the outcome as we’ve won our last 5 matches. We
are joint top of the Championship form table (last 6 matches) so our optimism is hardly misplaced!
On our Red All Over show, 3 of us have predicted a Barnsley win, 2 feel it’ll be a draw. At the time of
writing this (Monday evening), of 48 predictions by our viewers, only 4 feel that we’ll lose by the odd
goal. Now that’s positive for Reds fans, who aren’t known for being effusive with their praise!
A Barnsley win then. You read it here first!
