Paul Reid is hoping that he can come to an agreement with Barnsley to terminate his current deal at Oakwell.

The Carlisle born centre half is hoping to return to his hometown club after falling down the pecking order at Oakwell.

Red’s boss Simon Davey had replaced twenty six year old Reid with Souza, Foster and Nyatanga, who all barely put a foot wrong all season.

Reid was solid at the back in League 1 for the tykes as they triumphed in the play-offs of 2006. But Paul was allowed to go on loan to Carlisle but didn’t feature dude to injury.

However, his contract cannot be terminated unless there is another club who state their interest in the player and hopefully this will be soon in order for Paul to start playing regular football again.
